The protagonist of the game is Bonk, who is a bald and strong caveboy, fighting against anthropomorphic dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. In the game, the primary mission of the protagonist is to save Princess Za, who has been abducted by the antagonist, who is an evil King named as Drool. The player attacks foes by bonking them with his massive forehead. The player starts the game with three hearts, depleted to blue as the player takes damage, and three further lives. The player can restore his health by gathering vegetables and fruits. During exploration, the player can gather pieces of meat as power-up and can use them to gain special abilities. He can explore the world from a side-scroll perspective, battle against enemies and kill them using his head while avoiding enemy attacks.
